It LOOKS intimidating…but it is actually quite simple.
Hands down the easiest, least-intimidating way to start growing is with Midwest Grow Kits Ultimate Mushroom Growing & Incubator Kit.

I am, however, not a fan of buying pre-sterilized grain for spawn, which is included in a lot of all-in-one kits.
Why?
Because you have no idea the temperature conditions in which your sterilized grain for spawn was shipped.
If the delivery truck was hot, which they often are, you are guaranteed to have a contamination at the level of your grain spawn, which is an early part of the process.
It is best to make your own grain spawn at home, no matter how tempting it is to buy pre-sterilized grain for spawn.

How to grow magic mushrooms...Understanding the mushroom life-cycle
How to grow magic mushrooms, you ask?
There are a few smaller projects which will require a short amount of your time, but the main things required from you for the whole process are:
Waiting and patience.
Growing magic mushrooms does require understanding a sequential alchemy:
- You start with the spores, which grow into mycelium, the hidden roots of the fungi, spreading through a substrate rich in nutrients.
- Fruiting bodies, aka mushrooms, pin from the mycelium bed.
- The mushrooms then drop spores and the life-cycle continues.
Spores are designed to transcend space and time...so many theories suggest mushrooms are...extraterrestrial.
Here in Colorado, USA it is legal to buy psilocybin cultures, which is essentially liquid mycelium and is further along the mushroom life cycle than starting with spores.
This shaves off a couple of weeks from your total grow time.
Also, in Colorado you can buy fully colonized psilocybin spawn blocks...which cuts down even MORE time from your total grow time.
The environment (your mushroom house) allows you to control:
- temperature
- humidity
The ethnobotanist and mystic Terence McKenna was a strong advocate for the growth and use of psychedelic mushrooms. He famously believed that a symbiotic relationship with plants, including psilocybin mushrooms, could lead to profound spiritual insights.
Light, love and healing energy play a crucial role. I play singing bowls with healing intentions or classical music for my mushrooms.
Remember Dr. Emoto's water experiments?
Positive intentions and words like LOVE and FAITH created beautiful geometries like snowflakes.
Negative words like HATE created disorganized, confusing patterns.
Mushrooms are very similar. They absorb the energies from the environment which they were grown.
There are MYRIAD ways to growing magic mushrooms at home.
This echoes in the booming psychedelic mushroom market, projected to grow significantly as movements to decriminalize and recognize their therapeutic virtues gain momentum.
